abstract The present invention provides a retardation film, a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device which are excellent in adhesion and wet heat storage properties and excellent in display performance. [Solution] A first optically anisotropic layer, an intermediate layer, and a second optically anisotropic layer are adjacent to each other in the order described above, and the first optically anisotropic layer contains a leveling agent and is homogeneously oriented. The order parameter is 0.75 to 0.95, the thickness of the layer is 0.3 to 3.0 μm, the intermediate layer is 3.0 μm or less in thickness, and , SP value is 21.5 to 24.7, the SP value means the solubility parameter; SP value calculated based on the Hoy method, and the second optically anisotropic layer is a homeo A retardation film having a tropic orientation, an order parameter of 0.6 to 0.95, and a layer thickness of 0.3 to 3.0 μm; provided that the order parameter OP is OP = (A || -A⊥) / (2A⊥ + A || ) “A || ” means absorbance for light polarized parallel to the alignment direction of the liquid crystal compound. “A⊥” means absorbance for light polarized perpendicular to the alignment direction of the liquid crystal compound.
