titleOfInvention | Image forming apparatus |
abstract | Provided is an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing photoconductor wear, extending its life, and adaptable to a high-speed system with high productivity. A photosensitive member in a process cartridge is uniformly charged by a charging roller. A first charging condition for applying only a DC voltage to the charging roller and a second charging condition for applying a voltage containing at least an AC component. The control means (not shown) has a second charging condition when cleaning the charging roller 14. Charging conditions. The charging roller 14 is cleaned from the end of actual image formation until the operation of the apparatus is stopped, during which the voltage is applied under the second charging condition.
