titleOfInvention | Neutron scintillator and neutron detector |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron detector excellent in neutron counting accuracy capable of accurately measuring neutrons even in a high temperature range of 100 to 200 ° C such as for resource exploration. A neutron scintillator comprising inorganic phosphor particles containing at least one neutron capture isotope selected from lithium 6 and boron 10 and an organic resin, wherein the neutron scintillator is in the range of 100 to 200 ° C. The neutron scintillator is characterized in that the refractive index of the inorganic phosphor particles and the refractive index of the organic resin coincide with each other at the emission wavelength of the inorganic phosphor particles at this temperature. By adopting an organic resin whose refractive index at room temperature is higher than the refractive index of inorganic phosphor particles, when the temperature becomes high, the density of the organic resin decreases due to thermal expansion, resulting in a decrease in refractive index. The refractive index coincides with the refractive index of the inorganic phosphor particles. [Selection] Figure 1 |
