A method and use thereof for nociceptor differentiation of human embryonic stem cells. The present invention relates to the field of stem cell biology, particularly human embryonic stem cells (hESC), human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC), somatic stem cells, cancer stem cells, or lineage specific differentiation. It relates to lineage-specific differentiation of pluripotent or multipotent stem cells, which may include but are not limited to any other cell. In particular, a method is described that uses lineage-specific differentiation of hESCs and / or hiPSCs to nociceptors (ie nociceptor cells) using novel culture conditions. Nociceptors made using the methods of the invention include use in in vitro drug discovery assays, use in pain studies, and as therapeutics to reverse peripheral nervous system (PNS) disease or damage. Are further considered for various applications, including but not limited to. [Selection] Figure 1 |
