abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion method, a pigment dispersion and a pigment dispersant which are excellent in pigment dispersion and good in pigment dispersion over a long period of time, and further provide a toner having excellent pigment dispersion. A pigment dispersion method in which an organic solvent, a pigment, and a pigment dispersant are mixed and stirred to disperse the pigment in the organic solvent, wherein the pigment is C.I. I. Pigment Red 31, C.I. I. Pigment Red 150, C.I. I. Pigment Red 176 and C.I. I. A pigment dispersion method, which is at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of Pigment Red 269, and wherein the pigment dispersant is an aromatic oxycarboxylic acid represented by the following formula (1).
