The present invention provides a method for producing a film using an aqueous dispersion that has excellent dispersibility and does not precipitate for a long period of time. A method of manufacturing a film includes applying a water-based dispersion containing at least one kind of fine particles selected from tungsten oxide fine particles and tungsten oxide composite fine particles and a dispersion medium containing water to a substrate, and applying the fine particles to the substrate. A step of forming a film to be contained. In the aqueous dispersion, the average primary particle diameter (D50) of the fine particles is in the range of 1 nm to 400 nm, the concentration of the fine particles is in the range of 0.1% by mass to 40% by mass, and the pH of the aqueous dispersion is 1. The range is from 5 to 6.5. [Selection figure] None |
