abstract | The present invention relates to a homogenous system of alcohols in which aliphatic aminoalcohols are reacted or an aliphatic diamine or aliphatic polyamine and an aliphatic diol or aliphatic polyol are reacted in the presence of a homogeneous catalyst in the presence of water. In the process for producing lipophilic polyalkylene polyamines by catalytic amination, at least one of the starting materials contains an alkyl or alkylene group having 5 or more carbon atoms and, after the reaction, at least one nonpolar It relates to a process characterized in that phase separation occurs between the phase and at least one polar phase, wherein the lipophilic polyalkylene polyamine is concentrated in the non-polar phase.
