abstract A pipeline comprising introducing a randomly determined amount of dither into one of the flash components and a dual digital to analog converter (MDAC) at at least one stage in the analog to digital converter (ADC) It relates to a method for calibrating a formula ADC and a corresponding device. At each stage of the at least one stage, a correlation procedure is performed based on the output of the ADC to estimate the amount of gain experienced by the dither introduced after propagating through the stage. The stage is then calibrated based on its respective gain estimate.
