The present invention relates to a substantially pure metabolite of trans-clomiphene. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition containing these metabolites, as well as secondary hypogonadism, type 2 diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridosis, weakness, lipodystrophy, female and male infertility It also covers its use in the treatment of disorders including benign prostatic hypertrophy, prostate cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer.
