titleOfInvention Measuring device with reader and disposable probe
abstract A system for obtaining PH measurements includes a disposable probe and a reader. The disposable probe includes at least one indicator electrode and at least one reference electrode. The reader is configured to operably engage the disposable probe and provide pH information for the sample. In one embodiment, the system is constructed and arranged to provide pH information based on a potentiometric measurement of the sample solution, where the potentiometric measurement of the sample solution is such that at least one reference electrode is in contact with the reference solution. And based on signals received from at least one indicator electrode and at least one reference electrode when the at least one indicator electrode is in contact with the sample.
