Improved LED lighting system and / or method of manufacturing the same |
abstract |
An improved illumination system and / or method of manufacture thereof. The illumination system includes a glass substrate having one or more apertures. An LED 104 or other light source is placed at one end of the aperture so that light exits from the LED through the aperture in the glass substrate to the end facing the aperture. The inner surface 108 of the aperture includes a mirror coating material, such as silver, for reflecting light emitted from the LED. In certain example embodiments, the remote phosphor product or layer is positioned to face the LED at the other end of the aperture. In certain example embodiments, the lens is placed in an aperture between the remote phosphor product and the LED. [Selection] Figure 1A |
