The present invention relates to a method for forming a multilayer coating film on a conductive substrate, a coating film formed by this method, and a substrate coated with the coating film. This method includes a step of electrodepositing a first coating composition on a conductive substrate to form an uncured electrodeposition coating film, and a step of applying an aqueous primer surfacer coating composition to form an uncured intermediate coating film. And then heating the substrate coated with the coating film simultaneously to cure both the uncured electrodeposition coating film and the uncured intermediate coating film to form a cured film.
