abstract | The present invention relates to an improved method of generating artificial light for plant cultivation. More particularly, the invention relates to a lighting device having a semiconductor light emitting solution and a device suitable for plant cultivation in a greenhouse environment. The best mode of the present invention is that binary alloy quantum dots (110, 120, 130, 140, produced by colloidal methods that produce a particle size distribution of quantum dots that produce emission spectra similar to photosynthetic effective emission (PAR) spectra. 150, 160). The method and configuration of the present invention allows for more precise spectral tuning of the emission spectrum of light used in plant (310,311) cultivation.
