titleOfInvention | Medical device for placement in a luminal structure |
abstract | The present invention relates to an expandable stent with a geometric design that exhibits high flexibility and radial strength. The stent of the present invention has a plurality of expandable first and second perimeter forming elements and a body formed in a generally cylindrical shape. When the stent is expanded, the second perimeter forming element forms a ring-like or hoop-like structure. In certain embodiments, the body includes a plurality of expandable first, second, and third perimeter forming elements, both of the second and third perimeter forming elements being rings when expanded. Form a hoop-like or hoop-like structure. The stent may further have end zones that serve as caps of the body, i.e., two end zones located at both ends of the body. [Selection] Figure 1 |
