titleOfInvention | Chewing gums and gum bases containing multi-block copolymers |
abstract | Chewing gum and chewing gum base that form a chewing mass at the mouth temperature and are chewable are multi-blocks comprising at least two repeating sequences each consisting of at least two different polymer blocks each having at least three monomer units Contains a copolymer. The multi-block copolymer can optionally be formulated to include linking units and have non-covalent crosslinks between the copolymer chains. The multi-block copolymer is optionally plasticized with a compatible di-block copolymer to function as an elastomer system in the gum base. The characteristics of the multi-block copolymer can be selected to produce gum bases and chewing gums with the desired properties. In some cases, the chewed mass after mastication produced from the gum base can exhibit improved removability from environmental surfaces that can undesirably adhere. |
