abstract |
The present invention relates to a process and equipment for treating concentrate particles containing a valuable metal and further having a component containing at least arsenic and sulfur. This process includes a first roasting step (1) performed in the first reaction furnace (16) and a second roasting step (3) performed in the second reaction furnace (17) 2. Including a stage roasting process. A gas mixture is formed from the first process gas component (2) obtained in the first roasting step (1) and the second process gas component (4) obtained in the second roasting step (3). The Secondary combustion of the gas mixture takes place in the secondary combustion chamber (6). In order to decompose the SO 3 contained in the gas mixture and reduce the content of SO 3 , the secondary combustion is a first process gas component (2) that is reducible and rich in sulfide and a second process. It operates with the gas component (4) as oxidant gas. The risk of deposit formation and corrosion in the secondary combustion chamber and in subsequent steps is reduced.
