A reaction vessel assembly for use with a thermal cycler is described. The assembly includes a reaction vessel and a casing that defines a cavity. In the first configuration, the casing receives the reaction vessel in the cavity and functions as a protective casing for the reaction vessel. In the second configuration, the casing engages with the mouse of the reaction container to close the container. In this configuration, the casing also functions as a handle. In a preferred embodiment, the reaction vessel is in the form of a capillary and / or includes an integral collimating lens. Certain embodiments also include RFID tags. |
