abstract The present invention relates to a high performance polyethylene (HPPE) member comprising at least 5% by weight of a radiopaque component, the HPPE member being biocompatible, wherein the radiopaque component is an HPPE filament of the HPPE member. Microparticles at least partially disposed therein. Furthermore, the radiopaque component has a particle size of at most 1 μm, preferably the radiopaque component has a particle size of at most 0.5 μm. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the HPPE member, and various medical devices and repair products including the HPPE member.
