titleOfInvention | F-19 nuclear labeled aptamer for target molecule imaging by MRI |
abstract | Magnetic resonance imaging (usually with 1 H as a magnetic nucleus) is an important diagnostic technique commonly used in hospitals for disease diagnosis. MRI enables non-invasive imaging of soft tissue that exhibits excellent stereoscopic analysis. Magnetic resonance imaging using 19 F instead of 1 H provides new diagnostic possibilities. 19 F nuclei have a high gyromagnetic ratio (40 MHz / T) and a natural isotope ratio of 100%. In the human body, 19 F-containing structures exist exclusively in solid salt form, for example in the teeth and bones. As a result, the J2 relaxation time of the endogenous 19 F atom is very short and almost no MR signal can be detected. The absence of an endogenous 19 F-based structure with a relatively high axis relaxation time ensures a very low MRI signal background. Thus, exogenous 19 F-based MRI contrast agents allow “hot spot” imaging in a manner similar to other techniques (eg, PET (Positron Emission Tomography)). As a useful extension of its diagnostic use, MRI is also recommended for monitoring the delivery of bioactive substances (eg therapeutic or diagnostic agents). That is, MRI can be used not only for the planning of treatment plans, but also for managing peripheral drug delivery using images as a guide. |
