titleOfInvention | Modified meningococcal fHBP polypeptide |
abstract | The factor H binding activity of Neisseria meningitidis fHBP can be decoupled from its bactericidal sensitivity. NMR studies identify various amino acid residues involved in fHBP / fH interactions and modify one or more of these residues in fHBP to reduce or eliminate its ability to bind to fH. In one embodiment, the polypeptide of the invention comprises (a) at least k% identity with any one of SEQ ID NO: 4, 5 or 6 and / or a fragment of SEQ ID NO: 4, 5 or 6. Including (b) an amino acid sequence in which one or more of the amino acid residues listed in the table above have been deleted or substituted with a different amino acid. |
