abstract | The present invention relates generally to an apparatus for placing an intraocular shunt in the eye. In certain embodiments, the apparatus of the present invention comprises a housing, an arrangement mechanism disposed at least partially within the housing, and a hollow shaft connected to the arrangement mechanism. The shaft is configured to hold an intraocular shunt, and the shunt is placed by rotation of the placement mechanism. By utilizing the rotational movement of the placement mechanism, movement along the axis of the placement device is minimized, ensuring proper placement of the shunt in the eye. |
