abstract | The present invention relates to a residual lesion associated with or related to carcinoma such as colon cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, liver cancer, kidney cancer, thyroid cancer, bladder cancer, or pancreatic cancer. The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing cancer or for prognosis of carcinoma, monitoring the progress of a person affected by carcinoma, or observing the effect of anticancer treatment on malignant tumor. The method of the present invention comprises a step of contacting a sample of a blood derivative of a person to be analyzed with an adult stem cell, and expressing the expression of at least an epithelial marker of the stem cell by immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, ELISA or RT.
