The present invention provides a means for optimizing glycan processing in a plant body. The present invention optimizes glycan processing of cells or biological tissues, particularly plants, that contain glycoproteins with N-glycans, so that they have complex double-stranded N-glycans and also on at least one arm. Relates to a method for obtaining a glycoprotein containing galactose residues and lacking (or reduced) xylose and fucose residues. The invention further relates to the resulting glycoprotein and in particular a plant host system comprising said protein. [Selection figure] None |
