titleOfInvention | Electrophotographic photosensitive member, electrophotographic photosensitive member cartridge, and image forming apparatus |
abstract | To improve the durability of a photoreceptor, it is necessary to achieve both improvement in mechanical properties such as wear resistance and adhesion to a substrate, and stabilization of electrical characteristics such as residual potential, sensitivity and chargeability. When an undercoat layer is present, improvement of adhesiveness, surface potential, and residual potential is particularly a problem. In an electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least an undercoat layer and a photosensitive layer on a conductive support, the undercoat layer contains a polyvalent metal complex or polyvalent metal salt of a specific aromatic carboxylic acid. As a result, the surface potential and residual potential of the electrophotographic photosensitive member can be reduced. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an electrophotographic photosensitive member image forming apparatus and a cartridge that exhibit performances excellent in mechanical characteristics and electrical characteristics.
