【Task】 An object of the present invention is to produce FeO nanoparticles by a liquid phase method and to produce carbon nanotubes having a large outer diameter while improving the growth properties of the carbon nanotubes. [Solution] In the present invention, a solution containing iron oxide, an organic acid that dissolves iron oxide, and a first solvent is heated to a first temperature to remove moisture from the solution (S202), A second temperature holding step (S203) for raising the temperature from the temperature to the second temperature and holding the second temperature; and a particle extraction step (S204) for extracting FeO nanoparticles from the solution after the second temperature holding step.
