A method for producing polymer grade acrylic acid using a natural carbon source as a starting material. A method comprising the steps of (i) to (vii). (I) making acrolein by dehydration reaction of glycerin, (ii) making acrylic acid by oxidation of acrolein, (iii) extracting the obtained acrylic acid in the form of an aqueous solution of acrylic acid by counterflow absorption, (iv) The above solution is dehydrated in the presence of a water-insoluble solvent that forms an azeotrope with water, (v) light compounds, particularly acetic acid and formic acid, are removed by distillation, and (vi) heavy impurities are removed by distillation. (Vii) After adding an amino compound that can react chemically with the existing aldehyde to acrylic acid, the “technical” grade acrylic acid is purified by distillation to purify the “polymer” grade acrylic acid. A method for producing high-quality acrylic acid using acrylic acid. [Selection figure] None |
