abstract | A high quality lithium ion secondary battery is manufactured at low cost while improving productivity. An apparatus for manufacturing a lithium ion secondary battery applies a slurry-like electrode material including at least a positive or negative active material, a binder, a solidifying agent, and a first solvent to a surface of a current collector foil. Included in the coating section, the solidification chamber 18 that solidifies the coating film 22 by bringing the solidification liquid 24 into contact with the coating film 22 applied to the surface of the current collector foil 15, and the coating film 22 solidified in the solidification chamber 18 A drying chamber that removes the liquid component and dries the coating film 22, and the solidification chamber 18 determines the contact width of the solidified liquid 24 along the direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the current collector foil 15. There is provided a spray nozzle 23 that is defined within the position of the current collecting tab of the current collecting foil 15 to be equal to or larger than the width of the coating film 22 applied to the surface of the current collecting foil 15.
