abstract | Provided is a method for producing a conjugated diene polymer having a very high 1,4-cis structure content using a catalyst containing an yttrium compound that is relatively easy to handle and highly active. Polymerizing a conjugated diene in the presence of (A) a specific yttrium compound, (B) an ionic compound comprising a non-coordinating anion and a cation, and (C) a catalyst obtained from an organoaluminum compound.
