abstract | When producing (meth) acrylic acid from a raw material composition containing a polymer of 3-hydroxycarboxylic acid, it is possible to suppress clogging of a reactor or the like and decrease in catalytic activity, and to obtain high yield of (meth) acrylic acid. The production method of (meth) acrylic acid that can be stably produced over a long period of time is provided. A method for producing (meth) acrylic acid from a raw material composition containing a polymer of 3-hydroxycarboxylic acid, comprising: (a) a decomposition step for generating a decomposition product of the polymer; b) A method for producing (meth) acrylic acid, comprising a dehydration step of producing (meth) acrylic acid by bringing the decomposition product into contact with a dehydration catalyst.
