titleOfInvention Tunable laser and photoacoustic apparatus using the same
abstract In a birefringent filter having two birefringent plates, a wavelength tunable laser capable of suppressing a sub-peak transmittance and extending a wavelength tunable range is provided. A resonator composed of a high reflection mirror 104 and a partial reflection mirror 105, a gain medium 109 and a birefringence filter 101 disposed in the resonator, and an excitation device 110 for exciting the gain medium. The wavelength tunable laser is configured such that light transmitted through the birefringent filter oscillates between the high reflection mirror and the partial reflection mirror, and the oscillation wavelength is switched by rotating the birefringence filter. The birefringent filter is composed of a first birefringent plate 1021 and a second birefringent plate 1022 having an electrical principal axis parallel to the optical surface, and the first birefringent plate. The absolute value of the angle formed by the electrical principal axis of the plate and the electrical principal axis of the second birefringent plate is greater than zero. [Selection] Figure 1
