Compositions and methods for tumor therapy |
abstract |
Provided are methods and compositions relating to the diagnosis and treatment of tumor cell growth and proliferation in mammals including humans. An isolated antibody that binds to an ADAM8 polypeptide, wherein the ADAM8 gene is associated with overexpression of a gene product in the genome of a tumor cell as compared to a normal cell of a homologous tissue, and contributes to tumor formation. Thus, the antibody targeting ADAM8 protein encoded by the amplified gene is useful for the diagnosis and / or treatment (including prevention) of certain types of cancer. The antibody is a monoclonal antibody and comprises a non-human complementarity determining region (CDR) or a human framework region. [Selection figure] None |
