abstract | A suitable combination of materials is provided for a pedicle screw assembly that positions an elongate member extending along a spinal column in a patient's body to return the spinal member to proper placement. A pedicle screw assembly 10 includes a channel 20 configured to receive an elongated member 60 and a receiving portion 20 having a chamber 23, an anchor 50 having a head 51 shaped to fit within the chamber, and a head. A compression member 40 is provided that has a first side surface 41 that contacts and a second side surface 42 that contacts the receiving portion and is shaped to fit within the chamber. At least one of the receiver, anchor, and compression member is comprised of a first material 91, and at least one of the receiver, anchor, and compression member is comprised of a second material 92.
