A method of manufacturing a biopolymer optical device having a nanopattern formed thereon includes a step of providing a biopolymer, a step of processing the biopolymer to obtain a biopolymer matrix solution, and a step of forming the nanopattern. Providing a substrate having a curved surface, casting a biopolymer matrix solution over the nanopatterned surface of the substrate, and drying the biopolymer matrix solution to form a substrate.
