abstract An object of the present invention is to prevent image quality deterioration of a subject portion due to a change in Talbot distance. A system control unit includes a first energy spectrum determination unit, a subject transmittance determination unit, a second energy spectrum determination unit, and a Talbot distance calculation unit. The first energy spectrum determination unit determines a first energy spectrum of X-rays before being incident on the subject H based on the set value of the tube voltage of the X-ray source 11. The subject transmittance determining unit determines the transmittance of the X-ray subject H based on the type of the subject H. The second energy spectrum determination unit determines the second energy spectrum by multiplying the first energy spectrum by the transmittance. The Talbot distance calculation unit obtains a center wavelength corresponding to the center energy of the second energy spectrum, and calculates the Talbot distance. The system control unit 18 controls the first and second position adjustment units 24 and 25 to set the distance between the first and second gratings 21 and 22 to the Talbot distance.
