abstract The present invention provides a felt for papermaking and a method for producing the same, which can maintain water squeezing performance while maintaining hydrophilicity and having low adhesiveness and suppressing the falling off of a cured resin. A felt 1 has a surface 1a and a surface 1b opposite to the surface 1a, a base fabric layer 11, and a surface bat layer 121 in which a bat fiber 125 is entangled on the surface 1a side of the layer 11, A cured resin 13 impregnated and cured in the layer 121, and the cured product 13 includes a hydrophilic urethane resin 131 and a layered silicate mineral 132 dispersed in the resin 131. In this method, the layer 121 of the felt material including the base fabric layer 11 and the front bat layer 121 is impregnated with a composition that is cured to become the cured resin 13, and the composition impregnated in the impregnation step. Curing the object in the surface vat layer 131, and the composition includes a urethane prepolymer into which a hydrophilic monomer is introduced and a layered silicate mineral 132.
