abstract An object of the present invention is to extend the life of a discharge device by suppressing an increase in voltage applied to a discharge electrode due to silica adhesion. An air purification discharge section includes a discharge electrode (26, 54), a counter electrode, and a power source, and a streamer discharge is generated between the tip of the discharge electrode (26, 54) in the air to be treated and the counter electrode. The discharge electrode (26, 54) is made of a nichrome material whose tip is oxidized by a streamer discharge to form an oxide having a predetermined electric resistance, and the discharge electrode (26 , 54), the silica adhering to the tip is taken into nichrome oxide.
