abstract | An active ester resin having excellent heat resistance, small change in heat resistance after heat history, low dielectric constant and low dielectric loss tangent is provided. The following structural formula (1) [Wherein, R 1 and R 2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Z is a (substituted) benzoyl group, a (substituted) naphthoyl group, or an ester-forming structure site (z1) or a hydrogen atom (z2) composed of an acyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms.
