abstract | Provided is a membrane electrode assembly for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell in which leakage of hydrogen from an anode to a cathode is sufficiently suppressed and a polymer electrolyte membrane has sufficient mechanical strength. An anode having a catalyst layer, a cathode having a catalyst layer, and a polymer electrolyte membrane disposed between the catalyst layer of the anode and the catalyst layer of the cathode are provided.
