abstract The present invention expands a traveling area in an EV mode and reliably starts an engine. The drive system includes an engine 3, a motor 4, and fastening means CL1 interposed between the engine 3 and the motor 4. The engine 4 is started by the motor 4 and the fastening means CL1. In the hybrid vehicle control device to be performed, when the engine 3 is started, the motor 4 is operated using the output of the first rated output or higher that can continuously output the motor 4, and the engine 3 is started. The travel range in the non-operating EV mode is expanded, and the engine 3 can be reliably started when the engine 3 is started. [Selection] Figure 1
