abstract An internal combustion engine in which heat insulation between a cylinder head and an exhaust port is improved as compared with the prior art. SOLUTION: At least a part of an inner surface 12 of an exhaust port 6 formed in a cylinder head 7 is provided with a heat shield member 14 having a plurality of convex portions 13 on the surface and having a low thermal conductivity. Install in contact. The heat shield member is formed from zirconia ceramics. Further, by interposing a heat shield plate made of zirconia ceramic between the heat shield member and the inner surface of the exhaust port, the heat shield property can be further improved.
