Dual probe assay for HCV detection |
abstract |
A method for amplifying and detecting a target nucleic acid of HCV in a sample is provided. Amplification is performed by contacting a polymerase, a primer for generating an amplicon, and at least two detectable probe amplification reagents specific for different sequence portions of the amplicon, to the different sequence portions of the amplicon. The presence or absence of the amplicon is detected by detecting hybridization of the detectable probe. The presence of the amplicon is an indicator of the presence of HCV in the sample.
