In the amino acid sequence of wild-type MMLV reverse transcriptase, an amino acid residue corresponding to at least one residue selected from the group consisting of F303, L432, V433 and I434 was substituted with a positively charged amino acid residue. Mutant reverse transcriptase, nucleic acid encoding the same, method for producing mutant reverse transcriptase for recovering mutant reverse transcriptase from a culture obtained by culturing cells retaining the nucleic acid, mutant reverse transcriptase A reverse transcription method for synthesizing cDNA from RNA using RNA, a reverse transcription reaction kit containing the mutant reverse transcriptase, and a detection kit containing the mutant reverse transcriptase and a marker detection reagent.
