titleOfInvention | Method for producing metal nanoparticles |
abstract | A method for producing a colloidal metal or metal compound is provided. A colloidal metal or metal compound is produced on the bacterial membrane by contacting a bacterium such as lactobacilli with a metal or metal compound at a controlled pH. Bacteria reduce and deposit Ag (I) salt as nano Ag particles and colloidal Ag (0) on the cell surface. Biomass coated with colloidal silver or other metal nanoprecipitates can be separated from the aqueous phase by filtration or centrifugation, washed and rinsed, and further processed so that it can be processed in (diluted) suspension and coated. In both cases, a colloidal product with strong antimicrobial properties is provided. The present invention relates to the production of metal nanoprecipitates by probiotic bacteria and other bacteria that can be used as antibacterial agents in drinking water, surface coatings and other materials. Similarly, Au (III) salts can be reduced and deposited as nano Au particles and colloidal Au (0). [Selection figure] None |
