abstract A touch panel capable of providing an optimal protection effect and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. A touch panel includes a display unit 100, a polarizing plate 120, and a protective layer 170. The plurality of upper sensor strings 141 are positioned on the polarizing plate 120, and the plurality of upper peripheral lines 142 are positioned on the edge of the polarizing plate 120, and are electrically connected to the plurality of upper sensor strings 141, respectively, to protect the protective layer. 170 covers a plurality of upper peripheral lines 142.
