abstract The mass and volume of a pressure vessel are increased by the presence of a protective layer. A second protective layer 62 covers the thin portion of the second end plate portion 92 and its periphery to protect the thin portion. The thin wall portion is a portion where the thickness of the reinforcing layer 20 is thin. The second protective member 62 has a two-layer structure formed of a material in which an inner layer is polyurethane and an outer layer is a mixture of expanded graphite and polyurethane.
