abstract | A method for recovering cobalt at a good recovery rate is provided. Cobalt from a reaction mixture containing an N-acylamino acid (3) obtained by reacting an aldehyde compound (1), an amide compound (2) and carbon monoxide in the presence of a cobalt compound and hydrogen in a solvent. The reaction mixture and hydrogen peroxide are mixed to obtain a slurry in which a solid containing cobalt is precipitated, and the slurry is solid-liquid separated to obtain a solid containing cobalt.
