abstract | Disclosed is an aqueous dispersion of a polyarylate resin that can form a resin film having high hardness and has excellent storage stability. A polyarylate resin composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid component and a dihydric phenol component and satisfying the following (i) to (iii), a basic compound and water, and containing substantially no emulsifier: Aqueous dispersion. (I) The aromatic dicarboxylic acid component contains terephthalic acid (TPA) and isophthalic acid (IPA) as main components, and TPA / IPA = 60/40 to 40/60 (molar ratio). (Ii) As the dihydric phenol component, 20 to 50 mol% of 4,4 ′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphenol and 20 to 50 mol% of resorcinol are contained. (Iii) Acid value is 4-40 mgKOH / g.
