Hemostatic composition and therapy |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemostatic composition and method of treatment, including methods, compositions and devices that can be used to treat wounds. The hemostatic composition may comprise one or more biocompatible polymers or fibers, such as a poly β-1 → 4-N-acetylglucosamine dressing. Also optionally, the poly β-1 → 4-N-acetylglucosamine coating comprises poly β-1 → 4-N-acetylglucosamine that has been irradiated with reduced molecular weight and length. It provides a hemostatic composition that can reduce the frequency of wound dressing replacement and reduce the need and cost of care for patients with chronic wounds. [Selection] Figure 1 |
