abstract Disclosed are a dental device capable of observing the progress of sterilization by periodontal disease treatment in real time, a medical device used for treatment or prevention of infectious diseases, and a calculation method. A dental apparatus includes a light source unit, a light detection unit, and a control unit. The light source unit 55 emits light to irradiate at least one of oral teeth, gums, plaque, and tartar. The light detection unit 56 detects fluorescence or reflected light from the oral cavity that is emitted with respect to the light emitted from the light source unit 55. Based on the fluorescence detected by the light detection unit 56, the control unit 54 outputs first data for visualizing the temporal change in the intensity of the fluorescence.
