titleOfInvention | Method for sorting adherent cells by selective conversion of label |
abstract | Adherent cells with features that can only be detected in the adherent state can be sorted based on these features independently of their adherent state. A convertible label is applied in their adherence to the entire population of cells, both with and without the features of interest, and the location of the cells of interest on the adherent surface is identified. Subsequently, the cells of interest or all cells other than the cells of interest are selectively processed to convert the label to achieve differentiation between the cells of interest and the remaining cells. All cells are then released from the adherent state and sorted in the same way as non-adherent cells, except based on whether the label has been converted or not. |
